The Quiz Duel series of games were built around the idea of playing them in a pub with a friend. So far the lineup includes separate apps for movie, basketball, music, and sports trivia with more to follow soon. All apps are free with an in-app option to buy more questions for $0.99.

The main challenge when developing these games was to create an efficient workflow for building and releasing more games in the same series. This includes: standardized graphics; build scripts to keep the same code base where possible, while still allowing game-specific code changes; custom tools to make the creation of new quiz packs as easy as possible.

Apptree Apps LLC is currently offering an iPad to a lucky user who decides to buy the full version of any of these games. They’re also looking for people to create new quiz packs.
